The Guinness Premiership may only be three games old but it has already thrown up some interesting and surprising results.
Champions Wasps have had their worst start in recent memory and their last defeat to newly promoted Northampton consigned them to second bottom of the table without a win. Since the retirement of Lawrence Dallaglio London-based side seem to be lacking on-field leadership and when under the pressure chaos reigns supreme.
Perennial finalists Leicester have got off to a solid start with tree wins from three do far. The Tigers look to mean business this year as they look to go one better than last time around.
Sale are one of the most interesting if not entertaining teams to watch at the moment. They are winning games but they’re not scoring tries; the nine points to six win over Bristol proving their strong defence but lack of attack at present. The Manchester outfit has the best defensive record but the worse points for tally but currently sit second. The Sharks though do have the power and flair going forward to open up sides and you feel that it’s just a matter of time before that comes to the fore. If it does and they can keep up their consistency then they could be serious challengers this season.
Finally after a very shaky start pre-season favourites Gloucester are starting to play well and the Cherry and whites will be back in the hunt again.
