Every year when the race diary is released for a season, there are three dates that everybody heads straight for, one of them being the Grand National, secondly is the Derby and finally is the big one, the Cheltenham Festival. Millions of pounds are bet every year during Cheltenham week with the Gold Cup on the final day being the main race in the week. This week is an absolute dream for the bookmakers and this is why you see the ones who don’t advertise as much or as big really come out of the woodwork.
This advert is for Ladbrokes and was taken out of the Cheltenham pullout in the Sun newspaper. This is a different style advert to most of the others this week but like all the other adverts it still has a fantastic offer in. If you place a bet on a horse to win any Cheltenham races with odds of 3/1 to higher and it does win, they will reward you with a FREE bet to the same value for another Cheltenham race, not bad at all eh, this is only valid for any bets made either on the phone or online at Ladbrokes.com.

Coralcouk – After watching Manchester United beat Tottenham Hotspur in a penalty shootout at Wembley on Sunday I think we may see something special this season. With United now seven points clear in the title race and with a game in had that looks as good as won when you consider the form of the Red Devils at present and with them also looking strong in both the FA Cup and Champions League could this be the year when we witness the 1sy Quadruple set of trophies won by a team in any one season?

BET NOW

The bookies have now slashed the odds of this happening but 2-3 weeks ago you could have got 50/1 on them doing it but now I would think you would be lucky to get 20/1 but if you can find it I would say get your money on quickly before it is slashed further.
Sunday’s game was not one of the best too be honest but I am sure Sir Alex Ferguson did not mind getting his hands on the 41st trophy in his remarkable career after the nerve wracking penalty shootout in which reserve keeper Ben Foster was the hero after the 4-1 win.

With Inter Milan in the 2nd leg of the champions league to come at Old Trafford to come next week and them both locked at 0-0 I fancy Utd to comfortably come through that tie and progress to the Quarter finals and likewise in the FA Cup where they travel to underachieving Fulham and one thing is for certain and that is Man Utd will not play the same team as they did in the Carling cup final where Rooney, Berbatov and Van Der Sar were all rested with next week’s big games surely the reason. coralcouk

The Tri Nations is a round robin tournament played between the big three Rugby Union teams in the World in the New Zealand ‘all blacks’, Australia and the current world Champions South Africa.

BET NOW

With the fast powerful game that the Southern hemisphere teams adopt when they play the game of Rugby Union it is easy to understand why the Tri Nations as a tournament is head and shoulders above the Northern hemisphere version of the Six nations which other than Wales are not presently good enough to give any of the Tri Nations teams a game at this current time in my opinion.

The Tri Nations was born in 1996; the competition itself nowadays begins in July although originally it had started late in July but due to the expansion of the Tri series the start date has moved to early in the month and normally ends early in September. The Tri Nations opens after the completion of the Super 14 competition for the year because players from the SANZAR (New Zealand, South Africa and Australia) countries are involved in both competitions.

The dominant force since the start of the Tri Nations is obviously the New Zealand All Blacks with them winning no fewer than 9 championships compared to Australia and South Africa winning just a couple each including the last 4 times where even though New Zealand failed to win the Rugby union version of the world Cup they still clean up when it comes to domestic success.

Britain’s Andy Murray got by to arrive at the second round of the Dubai Championships in spite of an ankle injury with triumph over Sergiy Stakhovsky.
Murray assumed command after an irregular start, returning from a set and a break down to lead 6-7 (3-7) 6-3 5-3 when his adversary called it quits.
Both gentlemen fought on with ankle injuries – Murray omitted himself from Marseille last week because of the ankle trouble.

BET NOW

The Scotsman will confront Arnaud Clement or Rainer Schuettler in the 2nd round.
Murray is the second seed in Dubai behind Novak Djokovic, coming after the withdrawal through injuries of Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer.
Having outsmarted Stakhovsky in both their preceding encounters on the ATP Tour, in addition to the 2004 US Open junior final, Murray was a firm front-runner for their first-round skirmish.
A fast victory appeared on the cards once the Scotsman led 3-1 and 15-40 only he failed to convert, in spite of Stakhovsky wanting his ankle taped by the trainer, and chanced himself in a tie-break unnecessarily.
An irritating oversight became somewhat more dangerous as Stakhovsky took it, thanks in part to an incredible half-volley and a Murray double fault, and the Ukrainian captured an early break in the second set.
Eventually, Murray assembled himself and came up with a few 1st serves to rattle off four games in a row and serve out the set.
By now it was Murray who was making a face in anguish because of an ankle injury, only he didn’t ask for the trainer and negotiated to break to love at the beginning of the decider.
It showed to comprise enough for the world number four, and he perceptibly shielded his ankle from whatever uncalled-for strain as he focused on taking his service games.
Murray performed a fine chore of consolidating his lead but was refused the gratification of sealing the win when Stakhovsky, quite strangely, felt he could not keep going when just two points from defeat.

Six Nations

England’s frustration against Ireland in the Six Nations on Saturday has witnessed them drop away to 8th in the global rankings, their worst ever placement.
With 5 losses in their latest seven Tests, England are beneath Six Nations contenders Wales (fifth), Ireland (sixth) and France (seventh) in the rankings.
Martin Johnson’s squad commenced the year in 6th, but are at present barely one slot in front of ninth-placed Scotland.
New Zealand lead the rankings, with South Africa in 2nd berth.

BET NOW

And with fellow southern hemisphere heavyweight Australia 3rd and Argentina fourth, the table doesn’t give on the whole happy reading for European rugby football devotees.
When the International Rugby Board first introduced the scheme after the 2003 World Cup, England – freshly coronated as world title-holders – headed up the field, only their fortunes have withered since then.
Johnson’s predecessors Andy Robinson and Brian Ashton fought to hold back the gradual slump down the rankings, though England did progress to the 2007 World Cup final under Ashton.

England might if they were to concede their concluding two Six Nations games versus France and Scotland, although victories would see Johnson’s side ascend back up the rankings with little to differentiate a few sides.
In the meantime, England experienced some wanted beneficial news with the breakthrough that winger Paul Sackey’s leg injury isn’t as severe as first dreaded.

Scans have affirmed that Sackey hasn’t sustained any bone damage and that the harm is in his left calf muscle.
The starting 15 from Saturday’s defeat will assemble for preparation at Oulton Hall in Yorkshire, a modification from the frequent Pennyhill Park base, on Wednesday.
But the additional seventeen members of the squad have been freed to play for their clubs this weekend.

The judgement of this team is poor and the thinking by the management on this issue is pretty non-existent.

So is it simply a case that England don’t have a player who knows how to push the envelope at the breakdown, as they have it the past? You must have played with players who were experts in this department.

BET NOW

The great No 7s are always very good at this.

Referees are actually very generous around the breakdown these days. They will say ‘hands in the ruck, hands out’. The likes of Neil Back and Richie McCaw were brilliant at going in once, listening to the referee and then going back again. Now that doesn’t stop the opposition getting the ball, but those two seconds in rugby are the difference between a organised and completely disorganised defence.

It is cheating. They know what they are doing, they don’t need a referee to tell them that. But they are just winning that little bit of extra time for their defence – that’s smart play. England don’t do that. Players like Back and McCaw were great at bending the rules and getting away with it. Players like Dallaglio didn’t always getting away with it, but were great at giving the right penalty away – that’s the difference.

I am reading about people saying England must stop giving away penalties. But if England cut out all their penalties and France turn up, England will be heavily beaten, because they won’t stop France playing with pace.

There is such a thing as a good yellow card. That’s the difference.

But England have plenty of players with experience in their side, so what’s their excuse?
